The Famous Snowbird Tram, now owned by the Ian Cumming Family

Snowbird Resort announced a change of ownership yesterday. Businessman and longtime Snowbird patron Ian Cumming has acquired an 80% share of the resort, with longtime owner Dick Bass remaining as chairman.
Cumming maintains that the resort will not become part of his Powdr Corp. family of resorts. Powdr owns Park City which is engaged in an increasingly contentious battle with Vail Resorts and Talisker Corp. which owns the Canyons. At issue is a lease agreement, of which Vail has demanded the PCMR vacate their property. We’ll see how it all plays out.
Unrelated- no word yet on if the tunnel that connects Peruvian Gulch to Mineral Basin at Snowbird will retain the name “Bass Hole.”
